Home-made Mascara

According to an old saying, the eyes are the window to the soul. This is true most of the times. Whatever you see on a person’s eyes – whether it is compassion, love, sincerity, hatred, guilt, or jealousy, whatever it may be – it can be related to the soul. What you see in the eyes could be a person’s personality.

We can also attribute this saying physically. People who use makeups for the eyes, especially women, and those who apply them well, take care of their eyes and value beauty and elegance. Eye shadows are the most common eye makeup because it is easy to apply and eye shadow colors are really catchy. If you will be able to find out the shade for your eyes, you will feel as if your day is already complete.

But aside from eye shadow, mascara is also used to emphasize the eyes. It is not used on the eyes, rather, it is applied on the eyelashes. Black is the most common color of the mascara. By using mascara, you get to enhance your eyes. It is also used for darkening, thickening, lengthening, curling, coloring, and/or define the eyelashes. This cosmetic product is applied by using a brush, rod, or wand.

There are many kinds of mascaras. You can even use a mascara every day, but not the waterproof ones. Waterproof mascaras are too tough to remove. You’ll have to rub hard to remove it completely, having a chance of breaking your eyelashes. So make sure to use it only when there are special occasions.

And just like any other cosmetics, mascara also has ingredients that can be harmful and highly toxic to the human body. Allergic reactions, such as styes and swollen eyelids, are the most common side effects. Even though these effects are not really serious, you should still think about the health risks that mascaras can cause.

But a more serious effect it can cause is the deterioration of your vision, especially if you use it every day and you are not careful and hygienic about how you use it. Make sure you replace months old mascaras because bacteria and fungi can grow and leach on your eyes if you keep reapplying the mascara. I know you do not want this to happen to you.

So if you got worried about these risks, I think it is better if you stop using mascaras. But who would do that especially if you need mascaras so bad that you can’t practically live without it for a day? You got it right. No one. So instead of completely not using a commercially sold mascara that has a lot of unwanted chemicals and ingredients, why not use a homemade all-natural mascara instead?
